Leo Lin, Chun-liang, is a graphic designer, teacher and curator. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), majoring in graphic design. He is now a professor of the Design Department at NTNU. His past positions include Dean of College of Arts, Head of Department of Design at NTNU, and President of Taiwan Poster Design Association. He is also a member of D&AD. In 2016, he was named an honorary member of Brno Biennale Association.
Lin is the Convenor and the Chief Expert in Graphic Design Technology Skill of National Skills Competition, Taiwan. He also serves as Review Committee Member for the National Development Council’s “Design Regional Revitalization” Program. He was the Deputy Chief Expert in Graphic Design Technology Skill of WorldSkills Abu Dhabi in 2017. He is also a professional competition judge domestically and internationally, he as the Art Director has developed many visual identities and branding systems including The World Games 2009, The 21st Summer Deaflympics, Macau East Asian Games Dome 2005, Citizens Sports Games, FTV, Chunghwa Telecom, iSee Taiwan Foundation, The Prosperity For People Group (PFPG), IRICO Group Corporation, Sinopec Lubricant Company, and etc.
Lin focuses on contents, story-telling, visual experiment, poster and visual identity design. In his design, Lin explores new possibilities of graphics and puts much effort on reflecting social and cultural issues. By combining traditional culture and contemporary visual language, his works develop a strong experimental style. He is a winner of Taiwan’s National Design Awards and the first recipient of Best Young Talent of Commercial Design Excellence Award held by Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan. His works have been awarded by numerous world-known design organizations and publishing houses, including D&AD, New York ADC, New York TDC, Tokyo TDC, Communication Arts, and Graphis magazine. His posters have been selected by many international biennials and triennials in different countries and cities, such as Warsaw, Lahti, Mexico, Toyama, Moscow, Chaumont, Brno, Ukraine, Chicago, Trnava, Tehran, Korea, and Hong Kong.
