20241007 / Associate Professor Daisuke Nagatomo Leads Students in Interior Space Planning for New Taipei City Second Administrative Center and Invited to the “Future City Forum” for Student Design Competition Award Ceremony

Misosoupdesign is responsible for the interior space planning of the New Taipei City Second Administrative Center, focusing specifically on creative proposals for the gym and breastfeeding room. Under the guidance of Associate Professor Daito Nagatomo from the Design Department, Misosoupdesign’s director, Minnie Jan, and architect David Lee from 886 Architecture served as judges for the final evaluation, providing feedback and selecting a special award from the jury. Additionally, a public vote was held to choose a popular award winner. Awarded students participated in the “Future City Forum,” where they not only received their awards but also listened to professionals from various fields share insights on implementing sustainable projects. After the forum, they took group photos and exchanged experiences with participants, gaining valuable knowledge.The New Taipei City Government is committed to promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and hopes to extend these initiatives to schools through industry-academic collaboration. This design competition focused on creating “gender-friendly” spaces, where students explored how to design breastfeeding rooms and gyms that align with SDG Goal 5: Gender Equality. They engaged in thoughtful design regarding space planning, style, materials, and facility selection, aspiring to create more friendly and comfortable public spaces in the future.
